1.2OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

The objective of this study is to design and construct a circuit that will take a 12v  (D.C)  input from battery  and provide a 120v (A.C) output with under voltage and over voltage. Specially the study intends:

To design a circuit that converts DC power to AC power for various appliances used in laboratories, theatres and rural areas. 

To design an inverter circuit with under voltage and over voltage protection.

To provide a noiseless and weightless source of electricity generation

To have a source of generating electricity that has no negative effect on the environment (i.e. no green house effect). 

To provide a source of electricity power with low maintenance cost and zero fuel cost.

To design and construct an inverter to be used in the laboratory of the department of electrical engineering, Fidei polytechnic, Gboko.

 

1.3SCOPE OF THE STUDY

The scope of this thesis is to design and construct an inverter with an output current of 10.42vA, output voltage of 120vc from a 12v (dc)s input, using transistor instead of thyristor in designing different inverter. The transformer is design to match current supplied by the transistors and the D.C supply voltage.
